My favorite F/W trend is fast becoming all about wild hair. Although most girls love to play it safe around this time of year, many are taking inspiration from the celebs and going crazy with color. Being bold, standing out from the crowd and going bright with your locks is a must right now!
Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj are the perfect role models for being daring, fashion forward and creative with their hair. If you want to express yourself, your hair is the perfect way to do that, it certainly makes a statement if you drastically change your hair color. It is also a great way to re-invent yourself for the dreary winter months.
If you are brave enough, take your color to a new height and go bright. Upkeep is a must with brighter colors such as smurf blue or baby pink as you always want your hair to stay the ideal shade, and not fade out. If you are not that confident, choose a safer color that still makes heads turn, like vibrant red a la Rihanna. We recommend you take a trip to the salon to achieve this look as the stylists will know what color will look and work best with your hair type. At least a consultation will put you a step in the right direction. Follow up on maintaining your color by purchasing shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.
If you are not ready to go crazy and go for a full head of rainbow hair color, why not try highlighting your hair with those same colors. If your hair is dark, choose bright purples, pinks and blues to get that Katy Perry inspired look. If you are of a fairer complexion then go for more pastel colors, opting for baby pinks and lilacs. When playing with color it’s best to head to the salon to make sure a professional gets the color right. Plus, they can offer you different types of highlight techniques to allow the color to peek out. Alternatively, many salons offer clip in color extensions. You can purchase clip in color extensions at the salon or at beauty supply stores to change up your look without actually having to dye your hair. These are so easy to use and can really add edge to your style.
Another funky option that is totally on trend this season is dying the ends of your hair a bright and contrasting color. This look is great for those who want an easy way to change their style without the commitment of full hair coverage. It can also be trimmed off whenever you are tired of the look and of course, you can change the color very easily.
Whatever you want to achieve with coloring your hair, you can find the perfect color and style to suit your vibrant personality. You can be super brave and go full color, or experiment with strands of colors; either way, you are still making a very fashionable statement. Remember color isn’t permanent like it says on the box; you can always change your color when you feel the need try something new! That’s what fashion is all about!
