Big, thick brows are definitely “in” right now. Have you seen supermodel Cara Delevingne’s?!
A little trick to quickly make your eyebrows bolder and darker is to use an eye shadow color that is a shade darker than your natural brow color and apply it with any thin eye brush (I used a Sephora angled eyeliner brush).
Keep in mind that this is not an entirely “natural” look, so make sure you only go super bold for nights out or special events. Add a dark smokey eye, some liner and mascara and you are good to go!
Eyebrows play such a big part in the shape and look of your face they should be a priority when doing your makeup. Knowing how to fill them in can make or break the look you are going for. Full eyebrows are a big trend and mastering the look of them can get very tricky so here is an easy step-by-step way to do them. (more…)
Perfect and neat brows: sometimes it seems like mission impossible! With a few tricks under her sleeve, a woman can achieve more than she knows. Here are some tips and tricks for those perfect brows!
A big tip before we actually start: when you’re doing your eyebrows, do them both at the same time! By doing them both at the same time, you’ll prevent the disappointment of one eyebrow being perfect and the other one not. Also, the chance that they’re similar is bigger.
Full eyebrows are all over the cat walk and fashion week. So ladies, put down the tweezers and spend a bit more time between waxing/threading. Full eyebrows can bring a lot of attention to your face and frame your eyes beautifully without much effort. To make them look the best they can be and forward with this thread, follow these easy steps:
1 & 2. Groom them appropriately. Take your time tweezing strays and trimming your brows by brushing them up and carefully following your shape.
3. Using a brow powder a bit darker than your hair color, fill in your brows focusing on the arch and sparse areas. Remember: eyebrows aren’t twins, but close sisters, so they do not have to look exactly like each other.
4. To set them in place, use a clear mascara or eyebrow gel by gently using the and through them. (more…)
Ever wonder exactly where your arch is? Given your particular facial structure/shape, there is a specific spot where your where your eyebrows should start, end, and arch. The trick is not only simple but requires practically nothing – just a straight edge of some sort (pencil, end of a makeup brush, even a ruler!).
To find where your brows should start:
Use your straightedged tool and align it to the bottom tip of your nose. Straight up from this point is where your brows should start.
To find where your brows should arch:
Use your straightedged tool and place it on the tip of your nose. Angle it directly across the center of your pupil. The place where the straightedged tool meets your brow is the ideal spot for your brow to arch.
To find where your brows should end:
Use your straightedged tool and again align it with the bottom of your nose. This time, angle the straightedged tool in the direction of the outer corner of your eye. Where this angle meets your brow is the ideal spot for your brow to end. As you can see above, my brow is not “ideally” long enough based on the technique, so I should aim to grow it slightly longer.
Before you run to the salon to get your brows done, try this technique. Still can’t find your arch? Try letting your eyebrows grow in naturally – full length, width, and all! This will help you find your most accurate and natural arch.
There is no better time than the summer to work that all-American girl style. This look takes “less is more” to heart and simply adds some glow to your look. Just like Lauren Bush, we’re going to give you a run down of this gorgeous and minimal makeup and hair routine.
Step 1: Face – After washing, use a tinted moisturizer for a subtle glow. Skip the foundation and only apply concealer to problem areas. For example, dark circles, around your nose, and any blemishes. Then sweep a soft pink blush from cheekbones to temples. Lauren has a natural glow without layers of makeup, so to achieve this look, minimal makeup is necessary.
Step 2: Brows – Lauren has amazing, full eyebrows that really stand out. You can get them by using a brow pencil or kit to fill them in. Next to keep them in place, take either brow gel or clear mascara and brush your brows up and then out. Believe it or not this is a crucial step as brushing them clearly defines your brow. (more…)
