A key way to make your eyes stand out is by mastering the smokey eye. Another key way is to find out what colors really make your eyes pop. As a fellow member of the brown eyed community, taupes and greens are top tier to making those babies look their best. In this tutorial, I chose a deep taupe and as an accent a wonderful ligher taupe to add some dimension.

  1. Firstly, apply the deeper taupe all over your lid focusing on the crease and outer corner. This all depends on your eye shape and, if it helps, instead of closing your eye, apply the colors with you looking straight ahead to ensure that every aspect of the smokey eye is visible. This is a great tip, especially if you have hooded eyes.
  2. Next, concentrate that lighter taupe into the first half of your eye and the inner corner. Since the color is lighter than the deep taupe, it will open up your eye making you look more awake.
  3. Be sure to blend in all the colors! Now, with a color closest to your skin tone with a bit of shimmer (I’m using a champagne color) add that as a highlight to your brow bone. With such a smokey look, you want to bring in light to your eye area.
  4. Add multiple coats of mascara and you are ready to go!
