Valerie ChoucrounMy name is Valerie Choucroun and I’m studying Commerce in Montreal, Quebec. I’m that girl who loves everything about fashion and beauty but ensures to add a unique and individual touch to it all. I’m a huge fan of bright colored nail polishes, smoky eyes, and non-sticky lip-gloss! I have super long curly hair that is naturally a light brown, but has recently been dyed into an intense burgundy. I have hazel eyes (they change colors all the time!) that will reveal my mood in seconds. I have a fairly tanned skin color that could always be more bronzed if I’m being honest! Take a look around, I hope you see something you like! xxx

It’s been a hot summer so far, and what better way to spread the heat than to fire up your nails?

Reverse candy pink: If you love the color pink as much as I do, then you will definitely love the all-pink French manicure. Like the classic French, it still uses a base coat of a soft pink. The first step would be to apply two coats of your light pink base to all your nails. Then, instead of adding a white tip to the nail like the classic French, the tip would be a darker shade of pink. I love to use “Watermelon” by Essie for this look!
Neon tipped: If you’re a trendy girl, then you already know that this summer, neon will be everywhere. This is another great way to spice up the French manicure. You can use a base coat of white (or even soft pink if you prefer) and then add neon colored tip. A gorgeous color to use on your tips is “Funky Limelight” by Essie or the Instadry Sally Hansen “Lightening”. (more…)

Orange is everywhere this season, however, not every shade of orange is for everyone. Once you have found your perfect shade of orange, there are only so many ways you can learn to master it. The first thing you want to do is make sure that the rest of your makeup is kept as simple as possible. For an orange gloss, I recommend using a light and matte bronzer so that your skin doesn’t reflect the same orange hue as your lips. Keep your eyes simple: opt for the cat-eye look by extending the lining on your upper lash line out a little bit. Add a touch of mascara to complete the look. Of course, keeping it simple is not for everyone, you can always play around by only wearing mascara and adding a peach colored blush to your cheekbones.

As summer approaches, the weather is only getting warmer and thus, it is super important for all of us to ensure that we are drinking our eight glasses of water per day. Although this seems like so much, it’s important to understand why we need so much water each day, and that there are definitely great benefits to drinking water that every one should know about, and take into consideration!

Water works wonders, not only does it increase fat burning and reduce your cravings, but it also gives you more energy, and healthier skin! It’s almost as if water is the only medicine we’ll ever need, right?
